“I have, therefore, chosen this time and place to discuss a topic on which ignorance too often abounds and the truth too rarely perceived – and that is the most important topic on earth: peace.
What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war, not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace -- the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living -- and the kind that enables men and nations to grow and hope for a better life for their children -- not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women – not merely peace in our time but peace for all time."
-- John Kennedy, 1963

THE FIRST DREAM

Click on the picture for information about the Bicycle ride taken last Spring by 240 women from 24 countries 170 miles between Lebanon, Syria, & Jordan to support peace and foster solidarity among women

This was an incredible experience. The ride was joyful, full of dancing and caring. As we rode we talked and began to understand each other as fellow women, not European, Mid Eastern or American but fellow travelers who dream of peace with justice in a tumultuous area. Together we experienced Arab hospitality at its best. These three countries who have experienced first hand the pain and upheaval of civil unrest gladly supported our ride because they understood how important Peace is and how difficult it can be to attain.

THE SECOND DREAM

Click on the picture below for more information and the trip map.

There will be no true peace in the Mid East until there is a just and compassionate answer for the Palestinians. This is not just an Arab dilemma or an Israeli crisis. America and Europe are also accountable for this dilemma. As long as there is an "us" and "them" with us considering ourselves right there will be no true peace. A wonderful as the last ride was there was a missing piece. We can not achieve our goal without including our Israeli sisters.
